Belinda Alexandra is the daughter of a Russian mother and an Australian father and has been an intrepid traveller since her youth. Her love of other cultures is matched by her passion for her home country, Australia, where she is a volunteer carer for the NSW Wildlife Information Rescue and Education Service (WIRES) and is a patron of the World League for the Protection of Animals Australia.
Vanessa chats to Belinda about how she goes about researching her novels and what it takes to write an authentic and believable setting, as well as the role setting can play in shaping a book. With seven books under her belt, including her latest novel, Southern Ruby, set in 1950s New Orleans and modern day Sydney, Belinda shares some insights into how to effectively write books with dual timelines.
